Did you know that more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year? Pretty impressive stats! Every year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from across the nation through National Small Business Week, which is this week.
Activities include forums and panels discussing trends in small business, business innovation, financing, growth, matchmaking events, as well as networking opportunities and award ceremonies.
From architecture to bakeries, to consulting firms and woodworking - these are just a few of the businesses that will be recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration in ceremonies held in in Washington, D.C., May 15-16. It will be interesting to see who has been chosen as the 2014 Small Business Person of the Year.
