Power of Excel

We find for most of our employees Excel training is called for.  Inevitably people think they are very skilled in Excel, but our standards must be higher than the norm. We use Excel to track data, build models for analyzing data, write formulas to perform calculations on that data, pivot the data in numerous ways, and present data in a variety of chart formats. Do you have repetitive tasks in Excel that take hours or even days to do manually and you just know that there must be a quicker/simpler way to do the same thing? Are you working with Excel workbooks that are difficult to use or created by someone who’s long since left your company? Do you need to combine data from different sources? Are you trying to create a spreadsheet to perform a specific set of tasks, but don’t quite know how to start? Are you trying to create dynamic dashboards for reporting? Do you want to automate creation of graphics? How about using data validation filters to ensure only legitimate information can be added to your spreadsheet? Need ‘fuzzy logic’ record matching?

The list could go on! Referential has helped many clients with issues such as these and many more.   Hence our need for advanced Excel skills! We’ve used a variety of approaches to increase skills, everything from classes –online, on demand is preferred at the moment; to ‘on the job’ projects. Any favorite ways to ensure your team has top notch Excel skills?
